Some of the most expensive category of Art Décor Jewellery of all times
Beauty they say is in the eyes of
the beholder, but it would take more than just the love for beautiful things or
the eyes to behold one to get one of these precious stones. All across the
world, there are hundreds and thousands of lovely art décor jewellery produced
and worn by individuals. From the political class to the fortune 500 CEOs,
other entrepreneurs, working class persons, mums and das; the love and appeal
for these precious stones could be overwhelming for some. The value placed on
each depends on the stuff it’s made of and the history attached to the gem.
In a world where some persons
cannot differentiate between a 12 or 24 carat gold, some others will do
anything to have one of these rear gems. However, there is enough
archaeological evidence to show that the love for adornments has always been
with humanity. So, here is a list of some of the most expensive art décor jewellery and their
mouth-watery value:
Two of the most expensive Diamonds rings ever
• Wittelsbach – Graff Diamond
Ring

This lovely looking piece of rock
is truly one of the highly priced arts
décor jewellery valued currently at $80 million. It initially was a 35.56
carat deep blue diamond and owned at the different occasion by both the Crown
Jewels of Bavaria and Austria.
It was purchased by Laurence Graff
in 2008 at the value $23.4 million. Graff remodelled the gem, removing 4.5
carats and altering the colour. He then sold the diamond ring at the cost of
$80 million to a member of the Qatari royal crown.
• The Pink Star Diamond Ring

Pink diamonds are the rarest to
find no doubt, but there have not been any logical conclusion as to what makes
Pink diamonds pink. Hence, scientists are of the view that it is due to some
seismic actions that change the molecular structure.
The Pink Star diamond ring is the
most expensive diamond ring ever sold at auction until 2013. The Diamond is a
sweet looking oval shaped rock mind at DeBeers in Africa. The Pink Diamond was
initially 132.5 carat before it was cut to 59.6 carats and sold at $17.2
million. The Pink ring is said by
experts at the Sotheby auction to surpass any royal or private collections
worldwide regarding size and quality.

The Blue Belle of Asia is on record
the fourth largest faceted sapphire in history. It also broke existing world

Heart of the Ocean Necklace

The Heart of the Ocean necklace is symbolic of
the Leo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet’s experience in the movie, Titanic where
Kate reached out grab the Coeur de la Mer necklace in the film. Because of the
enormous success of the Titanic, Harry Winston set out to make a similar design
with the heart shaped 15 carats blue diamond. Gloria Stewart wore it to the
Oscars. Gloria is the aged woman who played ‘Rose’ in the Titanic. The Heart of
the Ocean necklace costs at $17 million.
The Most Expensive Crown Ever
Emerald and Diamond Tiara

The emerald and diamond tiara is one great
ancient collection of a crown. At a price of $12.7 million, the emerald and
diamond tiara was commissioned by Prince Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck of
Germany in 1900 for Princess Katharina Henckel von Donnersmarck, her husband.
What makes this crown stand out
amongst others is the use of 11 pear-shaped emeralds on the crown. The weights
of the Emeralds alone are said to be 500 carats. The crown also has 11
