Striking a balance between work-life and everything else

The pursuit of happiness could be so demanding that one lost count of how many hours one puts in a daily just to achieve success. Everyday people strive to achieve so much success that they sometimes fail to create time to enjoy what they have earned. Kanye West quotes; “I feel like I am too busy making history to read what I write.”

We are all mostly cut up in need to make end meets or come out of one financial mess or the other that we throw caution to the wind and further endanger our lives.

Negative Work Habits

•    Sedentary jobs
If the nature of your job is such that you seat for long hours without moving your body, you are endangering your health as it does not allow for proper blood circulation.

•    Not eating well
The chances are that once you have an irregular work time, you might not eat properly or eat as at when due. Just as overeating is a problem, not giving the body enough to work with is a big problem.

•    Not taking time out to rest
The human body needs enough food and rest to help rejuvenate and repair worn out tissues. When due to work the body metabolism and processes are disrupted by not creating time to rest, the individual is only opening a door for a breakdown to occur.

    No social time
It shouldn't be only work, work, work, and work! When one does not plan out time to hang out with friends, then one is missing out of the real purpose of human existence.

5 Steps to get your life back on track

•    Plan your work and personal life
It is pertinent to take out time from work to spend alone. You can also spend time with a loved one, friends and other family members as it helps relax the body for a better work experience.

 •    Have time for exercise
Have a regular time of work out. Let light exercises be a regular part of your lifestyle. You can even incorporate exercise into the work environment if your job is sedentary. Walking down the stair instead of taking the lift etc. are some ways to work out.

•    Check what you eat
What you eat impacts on your health. The food you consume should have the primary nutrients and minerals that the body needs to rejuvenate. Some foods, especially processed and fatty foods are harmful to one's health.

•    Check your health status
Always have a regular time of check up with your doctors to ensure you are in excellent health and to detect early enough if anything goes wrong.
As Kanye West quotes:

There’s nothing I wanted to do in life that I wasn’t able to get good at. That’s my skill. I’m not specifically talented at anything except for the ability to learn. That’s what I do. That’s what I’m here for.’

It takes more than wishing to enjoy good health; it takes hard work and planning.
